The Pushard Family

After the death of their daughter, Brittany, Mathew and Kenya Pushard took custody of their grandson, Allan. They decided to move to Silvervale with Mathew's twin sister Margery and her husband Jessie. Can they help Allan grow up well on limited means? How will Margery and Jessie adapt to sharing the household with a child after having none of their own?

((I'm trying not to use any cheats, so I killed off Brittany, my placeholder adult, by the traditional means of the 3x3 room with a burning toaster pastry... this sent Allan into aspiration failure so I'm going to have fun round 1 to try and get him out of the red. Luckily it's easy to get child aspirations up pretty high just through homework and such... although he did start with the want to get a puppy so I'll be doing that immediately! Also I'm debating whether I want to even attempt the elders' LTW since they'll probably die halfway through round 2... Jessie's is probably attainable if he does nothing but skill.))

Mathew Pushard (elder, M) Capricorn
Popularity (LTW: 20 simultaneous pet best friends)

Kenya Pushard (elder, F) Sagittarius
Pleasure (LTW: 50 dream dates)

Margery Pushard (elder, F) Capricorn
Fortune (LTW: 6 pets reach top of career)

Jessie Pushard (elder, M) Scorpio
Knowledge (LTW: max all 7 skills)

Allan Pushard (child, M) Leo

The Family was really upset about the sudden death of Brittany so they decided to rescue a terrier named Cymoril from the shelter

Cymoril knew a lot of tricks that would help him reach the top of his career path. Mathew quickly made friends with the new pooch by feeding him treats and playing fetch.

Mathew is really putting a lot of effort into throwing that stick!

That day the elders got part time jobs to help bring some income into the house. Mathew got a position in the culinary career track, Margery in business, and Kenya in education while Jessie stayed home to work on his skills.

Mathew earns two cooking points from a lucky chance card. Way to go Mathew!

Cymoril gets his first promotion! I guess all that attention pays off.

Cymoril is really showing up the humans in this house. He's the first one to get a promotion.

Despite being busy with the new dog and work, Mathew still manages to help his grandson with homework
Since they were so lucky with Cymoril, Jessie decides to adopt another dog from the shelter for Margery, a mutt named Leroy.
Leroy settles in by joining the family watching the nightly news. Welcome to the family Leroy! The next morning, Leroy grows up into a handsome, yet still misbehaved dog.

Cymoril gets another promotion through a chance card

Allan also gets his first A+

Way to go Allan... now if only your grandparents and great aunt would get some promotions already. ((Now that Allan got an A+ that he doesn't get homework anymore... is this normal? I've never had it happen before.))

The Pushards put a lot of effort into training their dogs...

Cymoril even learns a bonus trick...

Levitate!

All those new tricks have to pay off sometime...

And Leroy gets his first promotion! (note, the elders still haven't gotten ANY promotions).

Now that the dogs are trained, the elders start to concentrate on making some friends to get promoted
Makoto St. Julien

Kelly Teer
Jessie has 2 bolts of attraction to Kelly... no chance you dirty old man, especially since you greeted her in your thinking cap.

Jill Hoppes
Standing in the dog pee on the sidewalk is a great way to meet new friends.

Danielle Lillard

Kenya and Mathew even had time to sneak in a date.

The date turned out to be a dream date even though they both just ordered water...

The ghost of Brittany even popped up to say hi

granting Jessie his want of seeing a ghost. Although she scared Kenya and Danielle before but I missed it and they didn't like that too much.

Finally the promotions start rolling in

First Margery and Mathew get promoted...

Even though Margery has bad taste in art.

Leroy also gets another promotion via chance card.

And finally it's Kenya's turn (she had Saturday and Sunday off so she had to wait until Monday for her promotion)

Allan also earns a bonus from his good grades... see kids, school does pay off.

(funny because his only family to speak of is his grandparents at this point).

After a good Monday, we leave the Pushards with Allan turning into a teen.

I'm not sure why Mathew is giving Allan the stink eye in this picture but it was really funny.

Hopefully he's wishing for a good outfit.

... or not ... Happy Birthday Allan! We'll go shopping for new clothes next round :) Lets see what he'll aspire to be

Yay, something relatively simple!

((Well this concludes the first round of the Pushard house. So I got to experiment with elder LTW... Mathew's will be next to impossible, probably so will Kenya's too just because of time. Margery might be able to attain hers if I get a female dog and have them have puppies. In hindsight I wish I would have bought a female puppy instead of Leroy but all the females were Doofuses. Jessie ended up maxing out cooking, mechanical, and logic so he's well on his way to his LTW. I will update with Allan's stats and a makeover picture next round. Tune in for the Teers next.))

Score: 5 points (one for each sim)

LMFAO @ Mathew giving that little kid the stink eye on his birthday. Sometimes the expressions are so random, it cracks me up.

This makes me want to try the prosperity challenge really badly, but I don't know if I'll stick with it long enough! I'm scared of Prosperity Challenge ADD.

Hi, I just found your blog and started reading, and already I have a comment: I've had the homework thing happen to my kids too. From my experience, it seems to be related to being orphans...I think maybe when they get the A+ they go to holler about it to their parent but since they have no parent the game glitches. (In my prosperity 'hood, I had 4 children who were orphans being cared for by a non-relative adult. As soon as one of them got to A+ they all stopped getting homework. One would get off the bus and start to unfold his/her report card, and then they'd all jump and Kid 1 would be standing on the sidewalk with no homework and the other three would be standing in the backyard with no homework.)

Anyway, I'm betting you already figured out that this glitch is harmless (or not...maybe I should read ahead), but I thought I'd share my experience anyway.
